General information for parents.

Could you please ensure that all your children’s sweatshirts, polo shirts and coats have their names written in them, and check them from time to time as the names do wash off.

P.E. days are Tuesday and Thursday, all children are expected to wear a  P.E. kit of  dark shorts and  either red or white T. shirt ( no football strips ) and these should be named and kept in a separate bag. (If children put them in reading folders, the folders will not fit in their drawers). They will also need trainers or sandshoes as weather permitting; many lessons will be outdoors on the MUGA.

The children will receive maths and handwriting homework, starting next week, based around the work they have been doing in class, and weekly spellings, to learn for the spelling test on Monday afternoons. Please encourage your child to bring their reading folder everyday; this helps us to ensure they are heard regularly at school. All children have read now and done individual reading tests, but we do rely on your help reading at home with them.  I welcome your comments on your child’s reading.

Our school library is open again and we shall be starting regular visits on a Tuesday so your child will need to return their book on Monday, so I can delete it from the computer system.

If your child brings a toy to play with at playtime, it needs to be quite small as it will be kept in their drawers.

If you are thinking of booking next year’s holiday please avoid May as your child will be taking part in SATS tests then.
