Plants and Minibeasts

This term we are going to be learning all about plants and minibeasts. We will be going on an exciting trip the the Orchard to have our own minibeast hunt. We are also going to visit the Great North Museum to take part in a Habitat Explorers workshop.

We have started looking at how seeds are spread. On Tuesday afternoon we worked in groups to explore the different seed groups.

Topic update
We loved the Great North Museum. Have a look at the photos on our class page.

We had a special visitor in our classroom this week. A tarantula came to visit! She was amazing.

We couldn't get to the Orchard so Gillian brought a selection of minibeasts for us to look at. She very kindly left some snails for us to look after for a couple of days. We have to remember to feed them. They love cucumber and lettuce but they don't like carrot!

Our classroom has been transformed. We have a giant spider web and a spider hanging from the ceiling! We have also made some smaller webs and spiders to hang around the room.
