Weekly Learning Projects
Wk beg: 18th May 2020 - Kindness and Mindfulness
Hi again Year 5,
It was lovely to talk to you all last week and to find out what you've been getting up to. It was great to hear that you've all been keeping busy and practising your school work while you've been at home. I am missing you all!
The TTRockstars Battles are going well and it is lovely to see how much you are improving with your times tables. It looks like the students have won the most recent TTRockstars battle. Well done! The teachers will have to work a little harder this week.
This week's learning project is 'Kindness and Mindfulness'. I hope you enjoy working your way through the activities. If your adult wants to find out more about Mindfulness, they can click HERE to learn more. Remember to post pictures on the Class Blog so I can see how you're getting on.
Wk beg: 11th May 2020 - Food at home and around the world
Hi Year 5,
I hope you are all well. I hope you enjoyed the sunny bank holiday and celebrated VE day with your family. It has been great to see the photos that you have put onto the Class Blog. Please keep adding them, they always make me smile!
This week's learning is all about 'Food' so I hope you enjoy completing the activities that I have set for you. Please post any questions on the Blog if you get stuck and I will do my best to help.
I have been doing the Joe Wicks workout every day during Lockdown and feel so much better for it. I hope you are managing to do a little bit of PE each day to keep active, it always makes me feel happier.
Hi Year 5,
I hope you're all safe and well.
First of all, I would like to say thank you to everyone who has logged onto the Year 5 Class Blog. It has been lovely to hear from you and find out what you have been doing. Please keep logging on and sharing pictures and stories of what you've been getting up to. Seeing your smiling faces always makes me smile!
The Times Table Rockstars Battle has been great this week so well done to everyone who has taken part. The teachers are just ahead as I write this so we'll just have to wait and see who the winners will be. Watch out for future battles - I will post about them on the Year 5 Class Blog. Please continue to keep working on Lexia, Mathletics and TT Rockstars. I can see that some of you have been very busy on this - keep it up!
This week's learning project is titled: The Earth and the Environment. I hope you have fun completing the activities. Please post some of your work onto the blog as it is lovely to see what you have been creating/writing/drawing... Just click here for the Year 5 Class Blog.
There are new NCETM videos following on from last week's work in the 'Maths Support' section of the website so please take a look as this will hopefully help you with your understanding of fractions. The steps are small and the videos are easy to follow with lots of pictures to help visualise the problem.
If there is anything you are finding tricky or that you don't understand, please get in touch via the Blog and I will do my best to help.

Hello Year 5,
I hope you're all doing well, staying safe and that you all managed to have a nice Easter with your family. Below I have attached your new Learning Project for this week. This week's project has the theme: Newburn. There are lots of activities to keep you busy. Please use the space in your workbooks to write anything down. Don't forget about your 'Rainforest' Bingo board too if you're wanting to do something a little different.
