Mrs Jill Brown
I'm Jill Brown, Chair of the Governing Body since October 2019,
and a member of the Governing Body since 2010. I am also Chair of the Finance Committee and the Safeguarding Link Governor, which means I have a special interest in both of these areas, as well as in the overall running of the School.
I was born and bred and educated in Newcastle, and live locally. In my professional life, I am an HR Project Manager, and tend to work as a contractor, working in different organisations on relatively short assignments, which keeps me on my toes and gives me great insight into different industries.
I also do some voluntary work for the NSPCC, am part of the Newcastle School Admissions Appeals Panel, and am part of the North East Local Enterprise Partnership, working with Trinity Academy in Newcastle, supporting the School’s Careers Lead in helping their pupils prepare for the world of work.
I am very proud of being a governor at Newburn Manor. It is a great school, with a very positive ethos, focused on nurturing its pupils according to their individual needs, and preparing them both educationally and emotionally for the wider world. It is a privilege to be part of the leadership of the school.
