Online platforms and useful websites during school closure
Lexia: a fantastic reading platform which is engaging and fun, whilst supporting children in all areas of their reading development. Each child in school has a login name and password – Year 5 and 6 first initial and surname, Year 4 and below first name and surname initial (login instructions available on the school website - https://www.newburnmanorprimary.co.uk/lexia-log-on-instructions/ )
Mathletics: an online maths platform that allows children to practice and rehearse maths skills from across the curriculum – each child has an individual username and password. https://community.mathletics.com/signin
Times Tables Rockstars: is a carefully sequenced programme of daily times tables practice. https://ttrockstars.com/
A login for each child will be provided by the end of the school week.
We would encourage all children to access the above sites most days, if possible.
During this unprecedented time, many online platforms are offering free or trial periods of their resources however some do require you to log in or create a free account to access. Some activities can be done on screen, others may need to be printed and completed on paper. We are aware that some families may not use a printer at home therefore we will provide each child with a Home Learning Exercise Book which they can use to record any activities they complete offline. If school closures take place these will be pre populated with work from the teachers with further updates being provided on the school website.
