Subject: School Reopening Tomorrow

Dear Parents and Carers,

I am writing to update you following the fire incident that occurred at school earlier today.

This morning, our fire alarm activated and staff immediately implemented the school's emergency procedures. All pupils and staff were safely evacuated from the building, and I am pleased to confirm that everyone was accounted for and there were no injuries. Tyne and Wear Fire and Rescue Service attended promptly and dealt with the situation.  I would like to thank all the staff, including our caretaker for their efforts and professionalism.

Following thorough inspections and all necessary safety checks, we have been advised that the school can reopen safely. We are therefore pleased to confirm that school will be open as normal tomorrow, including Breakfast Club. We will make some minor adjustment to timings of the morning and lunch breaks but this will not affect the start and end of the school day

I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of our children for the calm, sensible and mature way they responded during the evacuation. They followed instructions exceptionally well and should be very proud of themselves.

I would also like to thank parents and carers for their patience, understanding and support throughout the day while we worked with the relevant agencies to ensure the site was safe for everyone to return.

We look forward to welcoming all pupils back to school tomorrow and resuming normal operations.

Kind regards

Stuart Pickup, Head Teacher
