New hooks!

One of the issues noted from our peers was that there was nowhere for KS2 to hang their coats when using the toilets during breaktimes and everyone didn't like the idea of putting coats on the floor or wet coats! School council organised for some new hooks to be placed in the toilets for everyone to use to solve this problem. A win for the council!

Christmas Fair and representing our school.

Today has been a busy day for school council with Ben and Catherine helping Mrs Gill show a prospective parent around our school. Mrs Gill commented on how exemplary they were and their confidence really shone through.

This afternoon we had our very successful Christmas school fair. Whilst the whole school profit is yet to be counted, the school council stalls made a fantastic £50 profit to go towards our school funds! The council members who ran the stalls showed such so much maturity and enthusiasm, and were a credit to our council. Well done to all council members for their ideas and hard work preparing the stalls.

Christmas Fair Preparations

We have had a busy couple of weeks in school council meetings preparing for our school Christmas fair. We had a meeting with Mrs Longstaff to decide what our stalls would look like.

We then have been busy creating our reindeer food to sell and thinking of names for our 'Guess the name of the snowman' stall. We created our own posters advertising our stalls. We look forward to seeing everyone at our stalls!

Leaflet dropping!

School Council had a special job with Mr Pickup to drop leaflets in our local area to promote our wonderful reception class for prospective parents!

Our first school council meeting.

On Monday the 4th November we had our first school council meeting. We were given the challenge of asking our classmates for ideas and topics that they would like the council to bring up at our future meetings. We will use what they bring up to set our agenda for this academic year. We are super excited to see what ideas our pupils have for our school!

The meeting quickly changed to discussing the excitement of having our own Christmas fayre fundraising stall. The council were very excited to discuss ideas of what we would like and we narrowed the choices down to either a 'Guess the name of the teddy' stall or an arts and crafts stall. We decided to invite Mrs Longstaff to our future meetings to help us organise this successfully. Our next meeting will be held on Monday 18th November.

Meet our new school council!

In each KS1 and KS2 class we held our school council elections on Monday 21st October. Interested pupils in KS2 could make a short speech about why they wanted to be the school council member for their class and their ideas for the school. Each pupil then voted for who they wanted to be their representative. We welcomed our new representatives in our ACE assembly and look forward to our first meeting after half term. Well done to everyone who entered the elections, all pupils showed great confidence and maturity and should be proud of themselves.

School Council elections are being held on Monday 21st October for years 1 to 5 and year 6 elections are on Tuesday 22nd October.

The representatives will be given their badges in assembly on Friday 25th October.
