Exploring human skeletons

In Science, we have been learning about the human body. We investigated the different bones in a human skeleton, labelled them and discussed how they support the human body. 

Nutrition workshop- Friday 26th February 

On Friday, we had a special visit from Northumbria University sports students to give us an interactive workshop on all things nutrition! We learned lots of facts about nutrition, food groups, balanced diets and how our bodies need a balanced diet to stay healthy. 

French food tasting

As part of our English and geography themed writing unit about Europe we read “The Travel Book” and the “Cities Book”. We created posters encouraging people to visit Paris and we were very interested in trying the delicious French treats. We tried croissants, brioche and French “beurre” biscuits! Yum! 

Shadow Puppet Theatres

In science, we made our own shadow puppet theatres to investigate how shadows work. We investigated how to make shadows longer and shorter in length, how to make shadows move and what happens if we move the light source directly above an object. 

Art week

In art week we have been developing our drawing skills and using line, shade and tone. 

We have been focused on improving our addition skills in maths playing different games including our favourite game “Piggy” where we race to 50 but be careful not to roll a 1 or back to 0 you go!
