Our trip around Europe!

Year 3 are currently learning about countries in Europe. We are enjoying researching the 'Travel Book' to help us create our own travel guides for different countries across Europe.

Computing mentors!

On Wednesday afternoon, Year 3 had an exciting opportunity to work alongside Reception to help Reception on their computing journey. Year 3 showed Reception how to play new apps on the iPads that were designed to help us with our computational thinking and coding skills.

Christmas Adventures at Lillidorei!

Christmas came early for Year 3 and we weren’t going to let the icy weather ruin our Christmas adventures to the magical village of Lillidori! We wrapped up warm and set off to have fun! We met some interesting fairytale characters as we set off on our magical adventure through the elf village and we peeked inside their homes. Then we had a storytelling session with a story teller which involved a funny face competition and a dance off!
We then hung up our own Christmas decorations we made in school from our DT project on our own Newburn Manor tree before letting loose on the world’s biggest play structure!
Our spectacular day ended with meeting some real life reindeer and even getting a special surprise Christmas present  left from Santa. What a wonderful day we had!

Stonehenge mysteries

In history, we have been learning about the mysteries of Stonehenge. We investigated theories about how it was made and why. We made our own model Stonehenge!

Wear Yellow for children’s mental health day

Today we celebrated children’s mental health day by wearing yellow and learning about how to manage “big feelings”.
We made our own comic strips to show how to ask for help with “big feelings”.

Stone Age cave art

We have been learning about Stone Age cave art and created our own cave art designs to show what life was like then. What can you learn from our art work about the Stone Age?

Stone Age Hunter Gatherers
As part of our Stone Age topic we role played as Stone Age people and explored our school grounds to look for things we could use to survive in the Stone Age. We had to look for things we could use to eat, drink, use for shelter and to wear.
