Storytelling Project Celebration
Children from Years 2 and 3 enjoyed an afternoon of exciting literacy based activities with pupils from Knop Law, Milecastle and Westerhope Primary Schools in May. Pupils from all schools had taken part in their own school's storytelling project with Ma Baker over several weeks, culminating in this joint celebration of all the outstanding work that had taken place.
Ma Baker led some brilliant fairytale themed sessions in school which had included storytelling, baking bread, story mapping and puppet making, all peppered with music and good humour to encourage the children in their learning.
During the celebration, each school did a presentation highlighting the work they had done during the project and we chose to showcase ours by acting out a couple of sketches which was fun! We had a super time and would like to thank our friends at Knop Law Primary School for making us feel so welcome as their guests. A big thank you goes to all the parents who helped their children to bake cakes to share on the day too - they were delicious!
