Mr Darren Sheriff

My name is Darren Sheriff and I joined the Governing Body in 2020 which coincided with my eldest daughter starting Reception at Newburn. I am currently Vice Chair and I am also a member of the Forward Planning, Admissions, Finance and Premises Sub-Committee.  Although new to both roles, I am enjoying the experience and look forward to helping the school move forward in any constructive way I can.

I was born, raised and educated in the North East.  I attended a local university and gained a degree in Computer Science.  I then worked for the university through the Teaching Company Scheme which is an initiative sponsored by the Science and Engineering Research Council (SERC) and the Department of Trade and Industry to develop active partnerships between universities and manufacturing companies. I now own my own technology based SME employing seven people.
