Year 2 had a great time dressing up as characters from their favourite books. See all of our wonderful costumes below:

Arrays

Spring B - Week 1

This week we used arrays to help us solve multiplication problems. We started by looking at a photograph of The Shard in London. How many windows does it have? It was almost impossible to tell! So we decided to make our own (with paper and post-it notes) using arrays to set out the windows in rows and columns. Much better! Far easier to count quickly and efficiently. Then we used the arrays to write lots of multiplication sentences. Have a look at our work below:

Newspaper Reports

Spring B - Week 2

This week, we heard about lots of good deeds being done by a not-so-secret giant... Of course, we knew we had to tell the rest of the school all about it so we wrote our very own newspaper reports. See the results below:

Ice Cream Party!

Spring B - Week 3

Well done for having such great attendance last term Year 2! To celebrate it was ice creams all round:

Kirkley Hall Zoo

Spring B - Week 4

What a lovely day visiting Kirkley Hall! The sun was shining as our two wonderful guides showed us around the zoo. We had a great time strolling in the wallaby walk-through, joined in with the meerkat and lemur feeding time, stopped by the aquarium and even held some animals in the reptile zone. We learnt lots about different animals and their habitats AND we met some Australian animals too. As we have been learning about Australia in Geography, it was fascintaing to see some of the critters in real-life. Take a look at our day at the zoo below:
