Year 6 pupils took part in the Outer West Learning Trust Cycling Competition at West Denton Primary School.  Events consisted of a mountain bike time trial - once round the track and a mountain bike skills test.  For each skill not performed or if an obstacle is knocked off or hit the rider received a 5 point penalty.  The lowest 10 individual scores will be added together to achieve an overall score for each school.  At the end of the competition the school with the lowest combined score will be the winner.  Keep your fingers crossed.  We lead the score board at the moment.
Thank you to everyone who came along to the Alphabetti Theatre to watch our performances.  The children were terrific.

Rehearsing with Hettie and Lydia of Alphabetti Theatre Company.

Don't forget to come along to the performance of the children's own work next week.

Year 6 took part in a transition event at Gibside with other children from the Outer West Learning Trust.  The children were a credit to the school.
Thank you to Matthew from Vision for Education who organised an after SATs ice-cream treat for our year 6 pupils.
We have been learning about the Battle of Newburn Ford with Mr Vyle.  Mr Carter of The Battlefield Trust brought some artefacts and took us on a walking tour of the battlefield.
After a busy week of SAT papers year 6 had a well deserved afternoon of fun at Mr Mulligan's Space Golf.  Well done everyone.
Solving maths problems with Mrs Gill.
We are taking part in a project called 'Write Something' with members of the Newcastle based 'Alphabetti' Theatre Company.  We will be performing our work at the theatre on June 21st.  More details will follow.
