Learning together, growing together

Autumn Term

Year 5 and 6 Nativity service at St Michael's Church in Newburn
Party time
Rocktastic!   We had great fun singing and dancing along to the band.
A few children have been working outside with Mr. Vyle to help improve the school environment and to practice outdoor cooking skills. Everyone has had a most excellent time and have worked very hard to produce an extension to the Invention Shed, cooked some most wondrous treats and whittled some things out of some green wood.
Election fever hit Newburn Manor on Thursday.  We carefully analysed and discussed the manifesto of each political party and then voted.  Our result was very different to the national outcome.
Thank you to everyone who came along to our 'Bamboo Tamboo' performance. It was great!  Many thanks to Franco and Steve.
Movie Night - all aboard the Polar Express.
We had a very enjoyable afternoon watching students from Gateshead College performing The Borrowers.
Children In Need.

Come and See morning. Thank you to everyone that came along.

We took part in the 'Walk Smart' child pedestrian training programme.

We had an amazing afternoon at the Aviation Academy at Woolsington.  We watched a robot worth almost a quarter of a million pounds being put through its paces.  Then it was on board the training plane to make our own aircraft.  Next we took part in a competition to see whose model plane could fly the greatest distance while remaining on the 'runway'.  Well done to all of the children who managed this.  Thank you to everyone who helped to organise this visit.
This week we have been writing newspaper reports in English.

Holding a 'press conference'.

Our first 'Bamboo Tamboo' music session with Franco.
