Assessment
Class teachers will carry out formative assessments in DT lessons to recognise which children will need to be stretched and challenged and those who need extra support. This may come in the form of:
- Questioning
- Observation
- Vocabulary support
- Additional resources
- Adult support
- Peer support
- Addressing learning from previous year groups
Each block of DT follows a progression of skills outlined in a document similar to the example below. This will be used by teachers to assess whether children have met particular skills objectives.
All work will be evidenced in a personal DT book that will follow each child through every school year.
