Autumn

Anti bullying week

Our focus in PSHE today was on anti-bullying week. We had lots of discussions about respecting eachother and our differences, and what to do if we experience or witness bullying. We are looking forward to 'odd socks day' tomorrow to raise awareness of antibullying week in our school.

Science Rocks!

In Year 3 we have been learning all about rocks and soils. As part of being scientists we have been conducting our own practical investigations. We planned our own investigations and talked about how they are fair tests. We made sensible predictions on what we think would happen.

We have been investigating which rocks are permeable and which are not. We investigated which rocks are the strongest and how we know they are the strongest. We have investigated soils and how each soil is different. We can explain how soil is important to all living things.

History Topic: Stone Age to the Iron Age.

We have really enjoyed learning about survival in Stone Age times. We looked in the natural surroundings of the school to see if we could find any materials or food which would have been useful to Stone Age people. We found berries and stinging nettles which could have been used for food. We also found lots of wood to make fires to cook food and keep us warm. Some of the stones we found could have been used to make tools and weapons.
