DT Stuffed Toy

We have improved our sewing skills whilst making stuffed toys in DT. We designed them based on rainforest animals and are starting to decorate them. There are different techniques to use in a design such as cross-stitch, running-stitch, blanket-stitch and applique and we have been learning about these. After researching and designing our products, we started to make and evaluate them.

Haka

We have been creating our own Haka's and trying different movements, words and sequences. Next week we will be experimenting with different formations.

Happy New Year! We have learned all about the Epiphany this week and celebrated the New Year and setting goals in families. Our Explorer text has become exciting and our class rainforest is well underway. In maths we have conquered adding fractions with different denominations and mixed numbers and are ready to move onto subtracting next week. Some of you have leapt straight into the bingo homework tasks with portraits, masks, research, models, writing and headdresses! Highlight of the week for some of us has been learning how to perform a Haka dance with Harry, our PE coach this half term. Welcome back Year 5 and well done for your enthusiasm, hard work and cheerfulness this week it's lovely having you back and I can't wait to get started finding all about The Tudors and doing lots of investigations this half term in our Science topic materials.
