Learning together, growing together

Summer Term

Term 3a Week 3

This week we have eaten some of the cress we planted in cress sandwiches, the children spread margarine on the bread added as much cress as they wanted and then folded it up to eat, there was a little bit spare at the end of the day so some of the children had a second one!

Term 3a Week 2

This week we took advantage of the lovely weather and spent some time in the garden next to the nursery to get the weeds out of the raised beds so they will be ready to add plants to before the May half term holiday.  We also planted cress in some cotton wool and are looking forward to eating some cress in cress sandwiches next week.

Gardening and enjoying the sunshine

Term 3 week 1

Reception have had a busy first week back after the Easter holidays.  We have begun our new topic on growing and changing, and have started to learn to tell the story of Jaspers Beanstalk using the days of the week in the correct order and making up actions to fit the words.  Some of the children planted beans in our outdoor area before the holidays and we can see a few leaves from those that have been growing.

We are starting Bingo Homework this week  the children will be given a sheet with all of the information but it is also below as a PDF.

Reception is very fortunate to have a lovely outdoor area where we can go in this lovely weather. Children are encouraged to bring a sun hat and have sun cream put on before they come to school, they are also welcome to wear smart black shorts rather than trousers in the summer months.
