Parents/carers of children in Reception class are invited to join us on Friday, 7 December 2018 at 10.10 am, as we celebrate the week's achievements of children in school.

Please come along and join us at our annual Christmas Fair on Thursday, 6 December 2018, 1.30 pm - 3.00 pm.  We will have a host of attractions and stalls, with many of the goods on sale produced by pupils themselves. We look forward to seeing you at what promises to be an exciting and fun event for all the family. Children from Reception to Year 5 must have an adult to accompany them around the fair. Proceeds will aid the work of the school in providing further opportunities for all pupils.

Parents/carers of children in Years 5 and 6 are invited to a short rock concert by the children on Wednesday, 5 December at 10.30 am. The two classes have each written their own song especially for the occasion! We do hope you are able to come along if you can.

Parents/carers of Year 3 children are invited to come along to a short concert on Tuesday, 4 December at 9.15 am, when the children will be showing off what they have been learning during their weekly pocket trumpet lessons.

Today will be a non-uniform day for children and they may come dressed in their favourite Christmas jumper or everyday clothing.  As a forfeit for not wearing uniform, we request that pupils please bring in an item suitable for the tombola stall at the school Christmas Fair, to be held on Thursday, 6 December 2018, 1.30 pm.

Parents/carers are invited to pop in on the morning of Tuesday, 27 November 2018, between 9.00 am and 12 noon to find out more about what happens in class during a typical morning. Please feel free to stay in class with your child for as little or as long as you like during the session.

Last year our overall school attendance was 96%; this is above the expected 95% set by the government but slightly below our school target of 97%.  This year we have again aimed for a target of 97%.  You will be aware that much emphasis is placed on good attendance for pupils by the school, the local authority and the Department of Education.  This is based on a well researched link between good attendance and pupil achievement.

 

We always aim to encourage and reward good attendance and punctuality.  To help towards our target we are currently running an in-class initiative for the children where there will be a whole class reward if they can fill the 100% display before the end of term.  In addition to this, any child who has 100% attendance from the beginning of this week until Friday, 14 December, will have their name entered into our 100% draw. A name from each class will be drawn and that child will win an INTU voucher for their parents ... hopefully coming at just the right time before Christmas.
